Asta von Asendorf is a gorgeous 4 year old German Shepherd. Loyal and affectionate with her beloved humans, she is not for the rookie owner but for a seasoned Shepherd person - one who understands the discernment, loyalty, smarts, and protective instincts of the breed. Asta comes out to meet the day excited and happy, walking well on leash, alert and curious about everything. She meets most other dogs well, with a wagging tail, but may need  a proper introduction to new people. She is extremely sweet towards her handlers, rubbing on them when petted and rolling over for belly rubs. Asta is always wanting to please. An extra-bright girl, she excels in training and knows multiple commands (including some in German),  and is very treat-motivated – which makes her a willing and capable student of anything you want to teach her; she’ll pick it up on the fly! She does great on car rides and hikes. When it comes to playgroups, there’s no other way to put it than to say that Asta is a star there. She has become a very social and friendly girl – she can coax just about any dog to play with her! Although she enjoys being with other dogs, she can be an over-enthusiastic player for some. This awesome girl will bring focused love, safety, beauty and brains into your home. However, no world-seasoned kitty would vote “yes” for sharing her home with Asta.
